As a huge fan of conserving century old buildings, I am thrilled to see so many historical buildings being re-purposed in our region. One of my favorite conversions is the Arrow Shirt Factory (formerly John Forsyth Shirt Co. Ltd). Located at 112 Benton Street in Kitchener, this factory was credited for creating the first detachable shirt collar. By 1920 it became the Arrow Shirt Factory where their 80 year legacy began, their brand name still continues today.
Located in the Victoria Park Heritage District and sitting vacant for several years, the Arrow Shirt Factory has been reborn and rejuvenated as the Arrow Lofts. A stylish condo which draws on the architecture and fashion of the past. An excellent example of conserving a historic factory.
